TRB's Conference Proceedings on the Web 16: The Role of Freight Transportation in Economic Competitiveness summarizes a December 2014 conference that explored the trends in freight transportation and economic competitiveness, as well as global business models and supply chains. Sessions addressed modal perspectives on supply chains, transportation system resiliency, transportation and energy sector developments, and global freight supply-chain issues.

This meeting was the eighth in a series of Spotlight Conferences funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Office of the Assistant Secretary for Research and Technology, University Transportation Centers (UTC) Program.
