TRB’s Committee for Pavement Technology Review and Evaluation has issued its fourth letter report to Victor M. Mendez, Administrator of the U.S. Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). The committee was established at the request of the FHWA to provide strategic advice and guidance on the FHWA’s Pavement Technology Program as authorized under the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users. The letter report addresses stakeholders' involvement in the Pavement Materials Program; FY2009 accomplishments, the FY 2010 plan, and the longer-term context for program planning; program assessment and development of performance measures; and the training of highway personnel.
