A September 18, 2007, letter report from TRB's Research and Technology Coordinating Committee to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) summarizes the committee's June 13-14, 2007, meeting. The report includes initial advice on how FHWA might improve the delivery of the research and technology (R&T) program in collaboration with its partners. The letter also reports on the committee's progress in preparing a special report on the adherence of the FHWA R&T program to the principles for R&T enunciated in the prelude to Title V of the 2005 Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU).
