17 CHAPTER THREE SURVEY FINDINGS OF TRANSIT AGENCIES INTRODUCTION This chapter uses information from the web-based survey on the use of GIS in the transit industry as conducted by the GeoGraphics Laboratory, Bridgewater State College, in 2002 and 2003. The results of the 2002 and preliminary results of the 2003 surveys are reported and compared with the information in the literature review to reveal trends in the use of GIS.
