Below is the uncorrected machine-read text of this chapter, intended to provide our own search engines and external engines with highly rich, chapter-representative searchable text of each book. Because it is UNCORRECTED material, please consider the following text as a useful but insufficient proxy for the authoritative book pages.

157   This guide is supported by a set of coordinated ancillary materials, all of which are available for download. They include: • Executive Summary. The Executive Summary, which serves as the introductory chapter of the full guide (with “ES” pagination), is also available as a stand-alone document. It provides, in narrative form with select graphics, a summary of the guide. • PowerPoint Summary. The first PowerPoint is a longer version, which presents a chapter-by- chapter summary of the guide, in slide format with abbreviated bullet text. This PowerPoint includes much of the guide’s graphic material. It can serve as a resource document for the individual reader or as the basis for a detailed, seminar-length technical presentation. • PowerPoint Introductory Presentation. The second PowerPoint is a shorter presentation, meant to introduce the guide’s purpose, key best practice recommendations, conclusions, and applicability to a variety of audiences. It is concise and graphic in style. • Appendices. The guide is accompanied by a separate volume containing nine detailed appendices. These constitute the research reports and other technical products of the research team. The appendices, available to the reader, are summarized on the pages that follow. Ancillary Materials

Joint development is real estate development that occurs on transit agency property or through some other type of development transaction to which the transit agency is a party.

The TRB Transit Cooperative Research Program's TCRP Research Report 224: Guide to Joint Development for Public Transportation Agencies is designed to expand the successful use of joint development in North American transit systems—in the volume and variety of projects undertaken, the diversity of transit agencies participating, and the quality of outcomes achieved.

Supplemental to the report is TCRP Web-Only Document 73:Guide to Joint Development for Public Transportation Agencies: Appendices, the Executive Summary, and a long version presentation and a short version presentation of "Guide to Joint Development for Public Transportation Agencies."
