The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine is conducting an important assessment of the challenges faced by state government agencies that use native seed and plant materials. I am writing because it is my understanding that your agency uses native seed or plant materials for ecological restoration or other purposes. The assessment will benefit agencies, like yours, by identifying ways for improving connections between supply and demand for native seed and plant materials.
We would greatly appreciate your asking the person who is most knowledgeable about the use of native seed and plant materials at the [Agency Name] to complete this brief online survey that is being sent to state agencies throughout the United States. The survey will ask about how the [Agency Name] uses native seed and plant materials, and the challenges encountered with obtaining native seed.
The online survey is located here: https://opinion.wsu.edu/StateSeedNeeds
Your survey access code is: <RespID>
Responses to this survey are voluntary and your answers will be kept completely confidential by the National Academies and the Washington State University Social and Economic Sciences Research Center that is implementing the survey for us. No individual or agency/department will ever be identified in our results. For this study to be successful it is vitally important that we hear from as many agencies as possible.
If you have any questions about why this survey is being done, please contact Krisztina Marton at the National Academies at KMarton@nas.edu. If you have questions about accessing the survey, please contact Thom Allen at Washington State University, firstname.lastname@example.org, or call him toll-free at 1-800-833-0867.
Thank you for considering our request and we hope to hear from you soon.
