Corley* SYNOPSIS Techniques and equipment used i n f i e l d t e s t i n g of a reinforced concrete waffle slab structure a t the s i t e of the I96I+-I965 New York World's Fair are described. Methods and systems known to be r e l i a b l e i n the laboratory were adopted f o r the f i e l d t e s t . Quantities recorded were loads, s t r a i n s , deflections, and crack patterns. This work indicates t h a t , with c a r e f u l planning and con t r o l , f i e l d t ests may be conducted with precision similar t o that obtained i n laboratory investigations.
