Conference - 64 - I t was recommended: 1) that the committee promote creative work i n the f i e l d rather than compile data or review progress 2) that the committee meet again i n Minneapolis, Minnesota, on November 3f 1956 3) that biennial conferences be held i n the f i e l d of i n t e r e s t of the committee, and that the arrangements for the conferences embody as many as possible of the following ideas: a - funds should include sums to pay expenses of a few foreign s c i e n t i s t s b - the meeting should be held a t an educational i n s t i t u t i o n , and be r e l a t i v e l y small (30 to kO p a r t i c i p a n t s ) c - the conferences should cover the l a t e s t experimental work aoA ideas, but not include formal papers such as would be submitted for publication; the objective should be to disseminate new ideas and techniques i n rough form even though they might be of a tentative character and not ready f o r f i n - ished publication.
