Among her awards are the NASA Distinguished Public Service Medal, the NASA Scientific Achievement Medal, and Brown University Horace Mann Medal, as well as a Scientific Achievement Award from the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Professor Zuber served on the Mars Program Independent Assessment Team that investigated the Mars mission losses in 1999, and more recently on the Presidential Commission on the Implementation of the United Space Exploration Policy tasked with conceiving a plan to implement President Bush's Vision for Space Exploration.
