In spite of their potential benefits, the use of externally bonded FRP systems is hampered by the lack of nationally accepted design specifications for their use in the repair and strengthening of concrete bridge elements. NCHRP Project 10-73 was initiated to review available information and to develop a recommended guide specification for the design of externally bonded FRP systems.
