His current research is focused on molecular genetics and the life course, social context and wellbeing, and interdisciplinary developmental science. He was a postdoctoral fellow from 1992 to 1995 in the Carolina Consortium on Human Development, Carolina Population Center, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
