... Fifth, the 1983 quality control estimates for change, which assume no change from 1983 to 1987, performed better than the average model version (the average rank being 9 for Table 5~. Under some circumstances the comparison values for the beginning of the period of study provide an interesting challenge to the estimates from the various model versions.
