50 Supplemental Grade Study During the process of developing guidelines for bike lane widths under various conditions, it was desirable to understand how roadway grade affects cyclist position. Specifically, the question of how much a cyclist drifts and sways back and forth while pedaling up a moderate to steep grade was of interest.
