... 24 Overall, the data gleaned from the survey of organizations having experience with LED airfield lighting, and the findings from the published literature, are largely consistent, in that they reinforce the following conclusions: • LED airfield lighting systems for taxiway and runway applications are presently available and functional. The FAA, through its Airport Lighting Equipment Certification Program in AC 150/5345-53, lists LED airfield lighting products that have been certified for use in meeting the appropriate FAA performance requirements for specific lighting system types outlined in FAA's Advisory Circular documents, and eligible for federal aviation grant assistance.
