SUSTAINING, EXPANDING, AND COORDINATING OBSERVATIONS The current global observing system has been implemented by USGCRP agencies, a process that has benefited from the formal and informal coordination of the Program. The data and information from these observation systems form the foundation for global change science, both in the United States and globally.

Some consider global change and climate change in the context of particular missions, whether to promote agricultural productivity, to manage the nation's public lands and fisheries, or to identify meteorological hazards. Many support research to inform resource management and other decisions.
