METEOROLOGY in t e r p r e t e d c a r e f u l l y and account must be taken of the general cloud cover and the mot i o n of the earth's hemisphere as seen from the moon i n order to r e l a t e the measured albedo and i t s f l u c t u a t i o n s to changes m cloud cover. The analysis suggests t h a t the brightness of earthshine i s most se n s i t i v e to f l u c t u a t i o n s i n the range between 30 to 50 percent of cloud cover.
