3 Introduction Motivation, Project Objectives, and Report Organization Numerous transit agencies across the country have undertaken bus network redesigns with a desire to increase ridership, improve on-time performance, and achieve operational efficiencies. Meeting these objectives often involves shifting bus resources from peripheral areas to areas with land uses and demographics conducive to high ridership and increasing spacing between bus stops.
