... The goal was to examine strategies to ensure that genomic applications are responsibly and equitably adopted to benefit populations and individuals over time. Some of the suggested solutions to barriers to adoption included the creation of training and education for clinicians and patients; recognizing and dismantling racism in the health care system; coverage of genomic testing by payers; enhancing electronic health record systems to support genomic results; and rethinking patient–physician interactions to allow for more time to discuss genetic testing.
