... My understanding is that we primarily use flocculants for disposal of materials containing hazardous chemicals, such as when we demolish polymer overlays on bridge decks. We avoid permanent stormwater management practices which require the intermittent addition of chemicals, and prefer to limit permanent maintenance to vegetation management and sediment removal where possible.
