STEM education and nanotechnology in particular have to appeal to an expansive workforce that elicits interest to develop enough talent able to work in these lucrative and important emerging industries. Toward this end, staff at nanotechnology infrastructure facilities must also be representative of the population they serve, which is an important consideration in workforce development.
