JAMkS CEIN is chief of the Infectious Disease Branch of the California Department of Health Services and clinical professor of epidemiology, University of California School of Public Health, Berkeley. His specialization in the epidemiology and control of infectious diseases began with the Hooper Foundation in San Francisco and with the Institute for Medical Research in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
