THE INDEXES
The seven indexes that follow are designed to allow easy access to the information, materials, and organizations annotated in this guide. For example, the curriculum annotations in chapters 1 through 4 are indexed by title, author/series, and topic. In addition, indexes on grade level and curriculum area by grade level enable readers to find materials appropriate to specific curriculum needs.
The titles of the indexes and their general focus and coverage are as follows:
-
The Title Index covers curriculum and other book and periodical titles annotated in chapters 1-4 and 6-8.
-
The Index of Names (Authors, Series, Curriculum Projects) covers chapters 1-8.
-
The Index of Topics in Curriculum Materials covers chapters 1-4, giving major topics of each module and activity book.
-
The Index of Grade Levels of Curriculum Materials by Scientific Area covers chapters 1-4.
-
The Index of Scientific Areas of Curriculum Materials by Grade Level covers chapters 1-4.
-
The Subject Index covers the content of annotations in chapters 6-8 (Teacher's References) as well as information on the structure and development of the guide presented in the Introduction, Overviews, and appendixes.
-
The Index of Ancillary Resources (Places to Visit/Organizations) covers chapters 9-10.
Throughout the indexes, the locator numbers in italic refer to page numbers. All other references are to entry numbers.

INDEX OF GRADE LEVELS OF CURRICULUM MATERIALS BY SCIENTIFIC AREA
INDEX OF GRADE LEVELS OF CURRICULUM MATERIALS BY SCIENTIFIC AREA
Identical information is presented in the two grade-levels indexes. The information is simply arranged differently:
• In this index, the disciplines (Earth Science, Life Science, Multidisciplinary and Applied Science, and Physical Science) are arranged under the grades (PreK-6).
• In the Index of Scientific Areas of Curriculum Materials by Grade Level, the grades are arranged under the disciplines.
As in chapters 1-4 to which these two indexes refer, the curriculum materials for each discipline are divided in the categories core, supplementary, and science activity books.

INDEX OF SCIENTIFIC AREAS OF CURRICULUM MATERIALS BY GRADE LEVEL
INDEX OF SCIENTIFIC AREAS OF CURRICULUM MATERIALS BY GRADE LEVEL
Identical information is presented in the two grade-levels indexes. The information is simply arranged differently
• In this index, the grades (PreK-6) are arranged under the disciplines (Earth Science, Life Science, Multidisciplinary and Applied Science, and Physical Science).
• In the index of Grade Levels of Curriculum Materials by Scientific Area, the disciplines are arranged under the grades.
As in chapters 1-4 to which these two indexes refer, the curriculum materials for each discipline are divided in the categories core supplementary , and science activity books.
